Students can take advantage of new academic programs and facilities at MDC, including the groundbreaking Electric Vehicle Training Center at West Campus.  MDC is the first institution in the Southeastern United States to partner with Tesla to offer a certificate training program for service technicians called Tesla START, an accelerated 12-week program designed to arm students with the skills necessary to become an electric vehicle technician.

MDC’s recently inaugurated Cloud Computing Center at Padrón Campus allows technology leaders, industry experts and students to engage and learn about leading cloud platforms and receive industry certifications, in collaboration with Amazon Web Services, Generation and Microsoft. In addition, the Cloud Computing Center houses the only College Credit Certificate and Associate of Science degree in Enterprise Cloud Computing in the State.  The Enterprise Cloud Computing Program is designed to provide an opportunity to establish a foundation in architect-scalable, highly-available application solutions that leverage cloud computing services, utilizing best practices that focus on Cloud security, cost, and reliability.

The new Center for Learning, Innovation, and Simulation at Medical Campus is state-of-the-art facility designed to provide students with the training needed to excel in today’s fast-changing health care industry.  This five-story Center features an entire floor dedicated to advanced medical simulation that will facilitate the practice of working in real-world clinical environments such as operating and emergency rooms. With the help of innovative technology, students will be able to recreate various medical scenarios, helping reduce errors, improve safety and elevate the quality of patient care.
