Isabella Isaza, a student of visual arts at New World School of the Arts, has presented her poster design for the 2026 Miami Book Fair, titled “Foundation of Learning.” This initiative is part of an ongoing collaboration that allows students from Miami Dade College and New World School of the Arts to shape the visual identity of the nationally recognized fair each year.

“I’m incredibly proud to see Isabella’s work represent the 2026 Miami Book Fair,” said O. Gustavo Plascencia, Dean of Visual Arts at NWSA. “Her design reflects the creativity, thoughtfulness, and connection to community that we encourage at New World School of the Arts. It’s wonderful to see her talent recognized and her work become part of such an important cultural event in Miami.”

Guided by her graphic design professor, Tatyana Iudean, Isabella’s artwork prominently features Miami’s Freedom Tower, creatively depicted using books. She highlights the deep connection between the tower and literature, noting that the tower symbolizes hope and new beginnings, while books act as gateways to knowledge and new opportunities.

As Isabella delved into the history of the Freedom Tower while attending NWSA at the MDC Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami, she gained a deeper appreciation for its significance as a symbol of opportunity, enriching her design’s conceptual depth. She describes the vibrant color palette of the poster as bright and joyful, infusing it with an energy that she hopes will inspire viewers.

“I’d love for people to carry some of that energy with them and feel inspired to pick up a book, learn something new, or become curious about something they may not have thought about before,” said Isabella. “If they walk away feeling a little more excited and inspired than they did before seeing it, then I think the poster has done what I wanted it to do.”
