Here’s a look at some of the new programs:

New MDC Programs

Digital Marketing Management Certificate

This certificate program is designed to prepare students to build and execute a digital marketing plan using digital tools to design, distribute, promote, and price a product or service. Graduates will understand how to connect with consumers using multiple digital platforms to create effective targeted promotional campaigns. This certificate is designed to serve the needs of students who are presently employed in the field of marketing, as well as those who are interested in entering this field.

Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality

Virtual reality and augmented reality are emerging industries, which according to field experts have the potential to become the next big computing platform. MDC’s College Credit Certificate program will prepare students for careers in this new and exciting platform empowering the next generation of creative thinkers and tech makers. MDC’s MAGIC (Miami Animation & Gaming International Complex) will be certifying developers and VR/AR specialists through quality training, state-of-the-art facilities and cutting edge technology.

Miami Cybersecurity Center

A cyberattack occurs every 39 seconds, according to a Clark School study. With the importance of cybersecurity growing in today’s digital world and the ever-increasing demand for professionals in this area, MDC once again takes the lead in training the workforce of tomorrow today. From beginners looking to enter the world of cybersecurity, to experts looking to improve their skills and advance their careers, this remarkable new center at MDC will prepare students to defend against network security threats. Individuals as well as corporate IT teams will be able to train in the Cyber Range which allows trainees to experience cyberattacks in real time within a training facility that is designed to simulate a real Security Operations Office.

MDC Works

Coming soon to MDC is MDC Works, a hub for training and career planning focused on skilled trades. Students will be able to participate in paid apprenticeships that will prepare them for work in the real world while earning a living at the same time. MDC Works will also feature internship opportunities and career planning resources.

The Internet of Things

As the “Internet of Things” (IoT) and other computer-driven technologies raise the level of sophistication and connectivity in products, software skills have become highly prized by employers. Graduates of the program acquire a skill-set that leads to producing connected devices by developing applications that can run on micro controller development boards, designing and simulating the functioning of the devices and building physical prototypes.

Biotechnology

Biotechnology is the practice of using living organisms to make products or improve processes. It combines elements of biology, chemistry, engineering, and computing. This associate in arts program provides the first two years of a four-year curriculum for students planning to major in biotechnology, biology, chemistry, bioinformatics and related disciplines.

Combined Firefighter/EMT

This certificate program prepares graduates with the technical skills needed to fulfill roles  in the fire service and emergency services industry. MDC has a nearly 100% pass rate for the State of Florida Firefighter Certification test. The combined program is designed to provide the Fire Fighter Minimum Standards training followed by the EMT training.
