On Saturday, May 2, MDC recognized and celebrated the accomplishments of more than 14,000 MDC students at five commencement ceremonies across the community.
This year’s speakers included Dr. William Adams, chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities, who kicked off the morning’s first ceremony for Wolfson and Hialeah campuses. Frank Del Rio, chairman and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Lines, spoke at the ceremony for InterAmerican and Homestead campuses; Katherine Archuleta, director of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, spoke at the ceremony for North Campus and MDC-West; Dr. William E. Trueheart, president and CEO of Achieving the Dream, spoke at the ceremony for Medical Campus; and Miguel “Mike” B. Fernandez, chairman and CEO of MBF Healthcare Partners, delivered the address at the closing ceremony for Kendall Campus graduates.
MDC students, faculty, staff, and proud friends and family of the graduates fervently participated in the Commencement conversation on social media, using the hashtag #MDCGrad.
