BlackBoard Introductory Webinars for Faculty

Dear Faculty,

Per my prior email, we are implementing proactive steps to assist you in the event we need to make courses available online for individual students or course sections.

If you are not already using the BlackBoard Learning Management System, CIOL has a one-hour introductory webinar available for you to familiarize yourself with the system.  You may enroll by clicking on one of the registration links below to participate in a session. (If you have trouble registering please email msarmien@mdc.edu and indicate the session in which you wish to enroll).

Blackboard Webinar: Get Started & Build Your Content

This Blackboard training session is designed for faculty who have no experience using a Learning Management System (LMS). It will cover the basics of using Blackboard as an instructor such as uploading the syllabus, accessing the class roster, and communicating with students using the e-mail and announcement tools in Blackboard. Participants will also learn how to build content such as uploading PowerPoint, handouts, files, creating pages, adding web links, and inserting rich media content into their courses. (Faculty Professional Development [FPD] 1 hour)

This is a one-hour introduction to the BlackBoard LMS. Participants will also be guided to the online location for video tutorials and helpful resources. This is a good place to start your preparation for online teaching.

These are “Live” Webinars. You may join from anywhere (on- or off-campus) with a laptop or computer. CIOL will email a link to join the Webinar the day before the session.
