MDC’s Medical Campus has organized and hosted the competition since 2021, honoring the life and legacy of the late Randy Boaz, an MDC instructor whose career started in 1960s and was one of the first paramedics in the United States. Revered in the paramedic community, Boaz taught many of the specialists who have been part of the competition, although he passed away several years before the event was launched.
