World Bank, International Finance Corporation, and Miami Leaders to Discuss Progression of Entrepreneurship and Employment Opportunities for Women

Miami, May 3, 2016 – Business and government leaders will discuss the latest findings from the World Bank and International Finance Corporation (IFC) about the progression of entrepreneurship and employment opportunities for women on Wednesday, May 11, at 6 p.m., at Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Wolfson Campus. The event is open to the public but prior registration is required.

This Americas Society/Council of the Americas forum will launch the 4th edition of the World Bank/IFC report, Women, Business and the Law 2016: Getting to Equal. A representative from the World Bank/IFC will present their findings as they relate to Miami and Latin America, and local business leaders will share perspectives prior to an active Q&A session. The report covers 173 economies and tracks seven areas: accessing institutions, using property, obtaining a job, providing incentives to work, building credit, going to court, and protecting women from violence.

Keynote speakers include Ines Bahachille, Vice President, Legal, and Director of Corporate Security at Diageo WestLAC; Nayda L. Almodovar-Reteguis, Legal Analyst, WBL Project & Senior Economist, The World Bank; Ana M. Guevara, President, Aventi Associates; Andrea Padilla, Corporate Resources Director, CELISTICS Group; and moderator Nancy Anderson Bolton, Senior Director, AS/COA Miami.
