Tuyo Unveils Two New Miami Spice Menus – East and West

Miami, Sept. 2, 2016 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) award-winning rooftop restaurant, Tuyo, has unveiled its next two Miami Spice menus – East and West – part of a series inspired by the best cuisine from the four corners of the world created by Tuyo Executive Chef Victor Santos. Guests can choose two items from the first plates on each three-course menu, which consists of shareable small plates that highlight various countries. The signature dishes and desserts were selected from customer favorites.

The East menu runs Sept. 6 – 17. Starters include Steamed Pork Belly Bao, Pan-Fried Vegetarian Dumplings, Red Lentil Pakora and Crab Avocado Summer Roll. For main dishes, chose from Chorizo-Wrapped Black Angus Beef Tenderloins, Crispy Skin Fillet of Black Bass, House-Made Ricotta and Corn Risotto, and South African Jumbo Prawn and Okra Caruru. Dessert options include Niveaux de Chocolat or Roasted Banana Napoleon.

The West menu will be available Sept. 20 – 30. First plates will include Heirloom Tomato Tartare, Mojo-Braised Port and Patacones, Watermelon Gazpacho and Crispy Laughing Bird Shrimp. Signature entrées will feature Roasted Rack of Lamb Persillade, Crispy-Skinned Filet of Branzino, Hand-Cut Pappardelle Pasta, and Filet of Bigeye Tuna and Shrimp-Stuffed Zucchini Blossoms ($15 supplement). Choose from Coconut Rum Semifreddo or The Key Lime Bar for dessert.

Located on the top floor of the Miami Culinary Institute (MCI) at MDC, Tuyo offers one of South Florida’s most elegant dining experiences, first-class service, and an unparalleled panoramic view of the downtown skyline and Biscayne Bay. The Miami Herald calls Tuyo “a smart addition to the Miami dining scene,” while Miami Magazine characterizes the restaurant as “a sexy, modern, Manhattan-meets-Miami space that is metropolitan and cozy.” Open Table diners regularly rate Tuyo as one of the city’s best eateries for ambiance, scenic views, romantic appeal, service, cuisine and overall experience.
