The Little Prince Comes to Miami Book Fair Children’s Alley

MDC’s Teatro Prometeo Brings to Life a Beloved Children’s Classic

Miami, Nov. 9, 2017Miami Dade College (MDC)’s renowned Teatro Prometeo will present their interpretation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Princeone of the best-selling books ever published—on Saturday, Nov.18 and Sunday, Nov. 19, at MDC’s Live Arts Lab, during the acclaimed Miami Book Fair, the nation’s finest and largest literary gathering

As the celebrated Teatro Prometeo enters an era of both revival and returning to its roots, it tackles a tale of similar themes, presenting the fabled story of a grown-up meeting his inner child, embodied by a Little Prince. His journey brings him across many planets and characters, where he witnesses the behaviors of adults and the modern world, before ultimately returning home to love, childhood and innocence.

The story’s adaptation and direction are by Sonia de Martín Iriarte.  Featuring performances are by telenovela actor Alberto Mateo (Dueños del Paraíso, Hospital Central and Fox Hunting), with Mariano Diaz, Magyani Medina, Hanna Ghelman, Danly Arango and the participation of Prometeens. Continuing its tradition of educating the next generation of actors, Prometeo paired students from its youth program Prometeens with seasoned professionals onstage, offering a unique learning opportunity to the aspiring actors that will be the delight of children and parents alike.  The event is free and open to all fairgoers.
