Miami, Sept. 11, 2023 – School for Advanced Studies (SAS), a high school partnership between Miami Dade County Public Schools and Miami Dade College (MDC), will hold information/applications sessions for current high school 10th graders and their parents on several upcoming Saturdays in September and October 2023. SAS is a full-time, collegiate high school where students complete their last two years of high school while attending MDC and, in most cases, simultaneously earn a high school diploma and Associate of Arts degree.
The schedule of the information/applications sessions are as follows:
- MDC North Campus, Saturday, September 16, 2023, 11380 N.W. 27 Ave., at 9:00 am in Lehman Theater (Building 5)
- MDC Wolfson Campus, Saturday, September 16, 2023, 300 N.E. 2nd at 1 p.m., Room 1261, (Building 1 – Second Floor).
- MDC West Campus, Saturday, September 30, 2023, 3800 N.W. 115 Ave., at 9:00 am in Room 1102

- MDC Kendall Campus, Saturday, October 14, 2023 11011 SW 104 St. at 9 a.m. in Building 7, Gymnasium
All current Miami-Dade County 10th-graders with a minimum unweighted 3.0 grade point average are invited to apply and may become eligible for admission upon satisfying all program requirements, including earning minimum SAS college entrance exam scores. Enrollment is limited. If the number of eligible applicants exceeds the number of seats available, a random selection process will be used to admit students.
SAS welcomes applicants from all public, private, parochial, and charter schools in Miami-Dade County. Additionally, many home-schooled students choose SAS to complete their secondary studies and begin their transition to college.
Students are able to obtain a true college experience since both their college dual-enrollment courses and their Advanced Placement (AP) high school courses take place on the MDC campus. All high school courses are AP level except the Research class with the SAS counselor. In addition, students receive free tuition, fees, textbooks and, if eligible, school bus and Metrorail transportation funded by Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
Ranked by U.S. News and World Report as the Best High School in Florida for 2023 and 3rd Best High School in the United States, SAS is located on five MDC campuses: Homestead, Kendall, North, West, and Wolfson. SAS has been designated as the official “Collegiate High School” for Miami-Dade County and all five campuses have been designated as “A” schools by the state of Florida.
