Save the Date! Miami Dade College’s Finn-Con@MDC Expo Returns to North Campus on June 21

Miami, June 9, 2025 – Start assembling your Cosplay fashion. Finn-Con@MDC is back! Miami Dade College’s (MDC) highly anticipated convention celebrating anime, manga, graphic novels, visual arts and gaming returns on Saturday, June 21, with a myriad of activities catering to fans of all ages. This event is FREE and open to the public.

“We are delighted to once again host Finn-Con@MDC, which not only celebrates anime and gaming but also encourages community engagement through these vibrant mediums,” said North Campus President Fermin Vazquez. “This event showcases the creativity and passion within our community as we look forward to fostering connections and inspiring new ideas.”

Among this year’s highlights, Finn-Con@MDC will give back to the community through Charity Video Game Tournaments organized by Genshiken, MDC North Campus’ student organization dedicated to anime, gaming and Asian culture. Competitors will battle it out in popular games like Smash Bros. and Mario Kart, with all proceeds going to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital through the Extra Life Charity program.

Cosplayers and enthusiasts are encouraged to participate in the Cosplay Contest and Singing Competition. Attendees can also enjoy returning favorites such as the Harry Potter Themed Escape Room and the Emmy Award-winning Anime & Video Game Concert, mesmerizing audiences with captivating lighting, stunning special effects and live music from beloved titles including Super Mario Odyssey, World of Warcraft, Tokyo Ghoul, The Elder Scrolls, Star Fox, Dark Souls, Elden Ring, The Legend of Zelda, and more. In addition, there will be arts & crafts activities for families such as face painting, mask making, interactive science lessons on slime creation and life-sized board games to play outdoors.

Exciting additions to this year’s event include fresh panels, presentations, and workshops, as well as the chance to meet special guests and engage with industry icons from popular anime and games, including voice actors, artists, singers and performers.

“I am incredibly proud of the collaboration between our faculty, Learning Resources and campus staff in making this Anime & Gaming Expo a reality once again. Their dedication to innovative teaching methods and creating engaging, immersive experiences is truly inspiring,” said Dr. Efrain Venezuela, Dean of Faculty at MDC North Campus.
