RENOWNED ARTIST TO UNVEIL POSTER DESIGN FOR 34TH ANNUAL MIAMI DADE COLLEGE’S MIAMI FILM FESTIVAL

WHAT:    Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Miami Film Festival has selected Argentinian designer, photographer and graphic artist Juan Gatti, founder of Gatti Studios in Madrid, as the official poster artist for the 34th edition. The poster will be unveiled following the screening of Juan Gatti: Main Titles, a collection of Gatti’s most iconic credit sequence designs, on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at the Faena Miami Beach Hotel. Past poster artists have included Chuck Jones, Javier Mariscal and Jean-Marc Calvet. This year’s artwork will be remembered as one of the most passionate and intricate designs to date.

Having recently lent his seductively ornate style to Faena Hotel Miami Beach, Gatti is renowned for his work as an illustrator for advertising agencies, magazines, and record covers. For over four decades, Gatti has contributed some of modern cinema’s most unique credit and title sequences, in films for Pedro Almodóvar (including Women on the Nervous Breakdown, High Heels, Broken Embraces, Volver), Alex de la Iglesia, Manuel Gómez Pereira, Susan Seidelman, Félix Sabroso and many more.

Gatti has worked as a designer in New York, and Madrid, with other fashion and culture greats through the countercultural movement in the 1970s, and held the post of art director of Italian Vogue, as well as art director of CBS Records. Gatti was bestowed with Spain’s National Design Award in 2004 and the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts in 2009.
