Register Now for Miami Dade College’s Fall Term Starting August 21

Miami, July 14, 2023 – Registration is open for the 2023 fall semester at Miami Dade College (MDC), which begins Monday, August 21. This fall, MDC will begin offering an Associate in Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence, one of the first in the country, as well as new certificate programs that cover the fundamentals of AI. MDC has also established a new dual enrollment program for high school students interested in teaching careers.

MDC offers hundreds of degree pathways leading to associate and bachelor’s degrees, as well as College Credit Certificates and dozens of short-term workforce programs and courses to acquire skills in growing and in-demand sectors, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, education and nursing, among others.

Classes are available in-person, via MDC LIVE, blended and online. Associate in Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence:

The Associate in Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence will prepare students to fill the rising demand for professionals such as AI developers or AI specialists. This program provides students with an understanding of AI’s lifecycle management and the ethical considerations relevant to its design and implementation. Students will also learn machine learning, data collection, classification, natural language processing, the functions of AI virtual assistants and techniques used in AI for computer vision, among other concepts and popular tools.

 MDC is also offering two new College Credit Certificates (CCC) in AI for those seeking to learn the fundamentals of AI and sharpen their skills. The nine-credit certificate in Artificial Intelligence Awareness is designed to provide students from any field with an understanding of AI concepts and applications. Students will learn about AI’s role in various industries and how these technologies may be applied in their fields. The 18-credit certificate in Artificial Intelligence Practitioner is designed for students seeking to develop the technical skills required for real-world AI applications. The program covers data management, machine learning, natural language processing and computer vision, among other topics. Scholarships and financial aid are available. Teaching Academy Dual Enrollment Program for High School Students:

Through the Teaching Academy Dual Enrollment Program, high school students can earn up to nine college credit courses and be able to take postsecondary coursework and simultaneously earn credit toward a high school diploma, an industry certification, a college credit credential, and go on to earn an associate degree with a pathway to an early childhood education, exceptional student education, secondary biology or secondary mathematics bachelor’s degree at MDC.
