Public Notice of Rulemaking – District Board of Trustees Miami Dade College

The Miami Dade College District Board of Trustees will hold its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the College’s Wolfson Campus, which is located at 300 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami. The meeting will be held in Room 2106 (James K. Batten Community Room) and will begin at 8:00 a.m.  During the meeting, a Public Hearing will be held pertaining to the amendment of the following Rule:

RULE NUMBER /TITLE: 
I-21 – Equal Access/Equal Opportunity

RULE SUMMARY:
The Rule will include reference to Miami Dade College Procedure 4055 – Services Provided for Students with Disabilities, Direct Threat Assessment, regarding the process for conducting a direct threat assessment; and statutory references to Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (Title II), as amended, 42 U.S.C. §§12131 et seq., and its implementing regulation at 28 C.F.R. Part 35; and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, 29 U.S.C. §794, and its implementing regulation at 34 C.F.R. Part 104.
