Miami Dade College’s Tower Theater to Pre-Release Screening of Life in the Doghouse with Director Ron Davis

Miami, Aug. 28, 2018Miami Dade College’s (MDC) acclaimed Tower Theater is going to the dogs with its exclusive pre-release screening of Life in the Doghouse on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 2:30 p.m.  This is the fourth feature length film from award-winning documentary filmmaker, Ron Davis, who will be present for a Q&A session following the film.  Facilitated by the Humane Society of Greater Miami, patrons will have the opportunity to adopt dogs in the lobby of the Tower Theater before and after the screening.

The inspiring and heartfelt documentary follows “a day in the life” of life-partners Danny Robert Shaw and Ron Danta, founders of Danny & Ron’s Dog Rescue. Their life-long dedication to rescuing dogs and bringing them into their own home – sometimes up to 75 at a time, has garnered them worldwide attention. In 2008, they received the ASPCA Humanitarian Award for their unwavering personal sacrifice and unique approach to dog rescue & adoption during Hurricane Katrina.

Ten years and almost 10,000 dogs later, Danny & Ron’s Rescue has become the voice for abused, abandoned, and starving dogs.  The film provides viewers with an all access pass into the lives of these men and the remarkable sacrifice it takes to give a voice to and help those in need.

The emotionally charged film has been very well received at Film Festivals including Frameline San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival, Provincetown Film Festival, and Newport Film Festival.

Tickets are available at www.towertheatermiami.comTickets are $11.75 for adults; $10 for seniors, students and MDC staff; and $8.25 for MDC students, Tower Theater and Miami Film Society members.  Free parking available in the lot behind the theater.
