Miami Dade College’s School of Education to Offer Information Event for Foreign-Trained Professionals Seeking a Career in Education

Miami, Nov. 9, 2023 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) School of Education will host an event designed for foreign trained professionals who aspire to be educators in Miami Dade County. The Educator Preparation Institute (EPI) in conjunction with English for Academic Purposes (EAP) event will take place from 6 – 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, at MDC Hialeah Campus.

The newly launched EPI + EAP program is focused on addressing the critical teacher shortage and assisting foreign trained professionals. This program was created through the partnership and collaboration between the Miami Dade College School of Education, MDC’s World Languages Department, Trio, MDC’s Foreign Trained Professionals Program, Revest & Miami Dade County Public Schools. The focus of this targeted program is to assist Foreign-Trained professionals who have at least a bachelor’s degree, acquire English proficiency and obtain state eligibility in order to teach in Miami Dade County and/or the State of Florida.
