2025 Florida Teacher of the Year Jaime Suarez to serve as keynote speaker.
Miami, April 7, 2025 – Miami Dade College (MDC) is committed to growing the teacher pipeline through several innovative programs, initiatives and partnerships. This month, MDC’s School of Education will host a pinning ceremony on Thursday, April 10, to celebrate the most recent group of graduates and dedicated educators ready to make a lasting impact in students’ lives.
The keynote speaker will be 2025 Florida Teacher of the Year Jaime Suarez, who will share a special message of hope and inspiration. MDC President Madeline Pumariega and provost Dr. Malou C. Harrison will deliver remarks as well.
A total of 42 baccalaureate students and 74 students in the Educator Preparation Institute (EPI), an accelerated pathway to teacher certification, will be honored during this momentous occasion, which celebrates the culmination of their rigorous academic journey and marks the launch of their impactful careers in education. The evening will bring together students, faculty, family, and distinguished guests for an opportunity to honor the next generation of educators.
