Miami Dade College’s North Campus to Celebrate Constitution Day

Miami, Sept. 12, 2019 Miami Dade College (MDC) North Campus will celebrate Constitution Day, Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 11:30 a.m., with a variety of activities for students and the community to expand their knowledge and understanding of the most important document in American History and how it has shaped our lives. All attendees will receive free copies of the Constitution. This event is free and open to the public.

“The U. S. Constitution is a living document that not only embodies the vision of our founding fathers, but also encompasses the cultural and social principals of our great nation. This is the day that we invite our community to reflect on values and ideals such as equality, justice for all, freedom of expression and religion, and the right to pursue our highest potential” said Dr. Malou C. Harrison, president of the North and Eduardo J, Padron Campuses.

The “We the People Community Leaders Panel” will feature Florida State House Representative, Dotie Joseph, historian Glenn Dyer, and MDC faculty. Attendees will have the opportunity to pose questions to the panel. They can also register to vote at the event.

Activities will also include “Know Your Rights” with guest speaker Dante Trevisane, vice president of the Greater Miami and Executive Director of the Florida Justice Institute.
