Miami Dade College’s Jazz at Wolfson Series Presents Saxophonist Bill Evans Dec. 4

Miami, Nov. 20, 2019 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Arts and Philosophy Department continues its successful jazz series, Jazz at Wolfson Presents, with Saxophonist Bill Evans, who will perform at noon, Wednesday, Dec. 4, at MDC’s Wolfson Campus, in downtown Miami.

Bill Evans has worked with Mick Jagger, Gregg Allman, Willie Nelson, Herbie Hancock and John McLaughlin. The Grammy-nominated saxophonist and singer is a world-class musician who made his debut at 21 with Miles Davis.

Evans has recorded 25 solo albums in addition to numerous guest appearances on recordings across musical genres. His 2005 album, Soulgrass, gained wide recognition among jazz and rock fans alike and is a melting pot of quintessential American styles.

Widely regarded as a “21st-century renaissance man” by his peers, Evans’ incorporation of different styles and his thirst for new experiences has continued to inspire and guide the bands he has performed and toured with – a restlessness of spirit he learned from Miles Davis.   Live Down Under, recorded in Melbourne, Australia, with renowned German drummer Wolfgang Haffner, and a collaboration with guitarist Robben Ford, are scheduled for release this year.

MDC’s Jazz at Wolfson Presents features live performances that run monthly from Sept. through April. All Jazz at Wolfson Presents events are free and open to the public. For a complete list of concerts, please visit
