Miami, March 3, 2022 – Enjoy an evening of great jazz by talented young musicians. Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Arts and Philosophy Department at the Wolfson Campus continues its successful jazz series, Jazz at Wolfson Presents, on Tuesday, Mar. 15, featuring Wolfson Jazz Ensembles directed by Dr. Michael Di Liddo. All Jazz at Wolfson concerts are free and open to the public.
The concert will feature two ensembles that will be performing live and in-person, consisting of some of south Florida’s finest young musicians. The groups include vocalists Aniye Strachan and Daniella Morana, saxophonist Justin Ricketts, guitarists Daniel Giraldo and Gianmarco Almeyda, pianists Gadiel Granados and Maria Briceno, bassist Mario Lemus, and drummer Phillip Pilla.
“These groups will perform standard tunes and classic jazz compositions,” Dr. Di Liddo said. “Their sets include music by jazz greats Miles Davis, Horace Silver, Dave Brubeck and Woody Shaw, as well as popular songs by George Gershwin and Cole Porter. They have studied their music intensely and are anxious to share their acquired skills, talent, and love for jazz.”
MDC’s Jazz at Wolfson Presents features live performances that run monthly from September through April.
