Miami Dade College’s Jazz at Wolfson Presents Acclaimed Trumpeter Jean Caze on March 12

Miami, March 7, 2025 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Arts and Philosophy Department continues its successful jazz series, Jazz at Wolfson Presents, with the Trumpeter Jean Caze at noon on Wednesday, March 12, at MDC Wolfson Campus. This and all Jazz at Wolfson Presents concerts are free and open to the public.

A millennial jazz and world music artist, Caze is the definition of a true global artist. His unique style and playing provides his audience with a musical experience unlike any, in jazz past or present. Growing up in Queens, NY, the Haitian American musician began playing the trumpet at the age of nine and went on to be awarded scholarship after scholarship to attend some of the country’s top music institutions, including the Julliard MAP, Queens College CPSM, through Manhattan School of Music. He has performed with stellar legendary artists such as Herbie Hancock, Aretha Franklin, Michael Bublé, Mariah Carey, Al Jarreau, Roy Hargrove, Arturo Sandoval and George Duke, to name a few.

In 2010, Caze began performing in Michael Bublé‘s touring band, leading to officially becoming a Yamaha performing artist. In December of 2015, Caze released his second self-produced album, “Amédé” where he seamlessly combined his Haitian roots with his American Jazz education and upbringing.

Caze is also an enthusiastic supporter of music and art programs in schools. Along with his busy performance schedule, he always makes time to organize youth jazz bands, conduct master classes and offer one-on-one classes to students of all levels. He has led and directed students at Miami’s Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, Young Musicians Unite – Overtown Youth Band, New World School of the Arts, the WDNA Jazz Boot Camp and Florida International University as well as Litchfield Jazz Camp in Connecticut and Institut Francais d’Haiti in Port-Au-Prince.
