Miami Dade College’s Five Commencement Ceremonies on May 5 will Feature Renowned Speakers

Miami, March 20, 2018 – Commencement is one of the most memorable moments in a graduate’s life and guest speakers have a unique opportunity to empower and inspire them. On Saturday, May 5, Miami Dade College (MDC) will host five commencement ceremonies where thousands of MDC graduates will hear from top leaders in various fields.

This year’s speakers are City of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez;  who will speak at the day’s first ceremony for the North and InterAmerican Campuses; Dr. Karen A. Stout, President and CEO of Achieving the Dream, who will deliver remarks at the Homestead Campus ceremony; Allan Golston, President of the U.S. program of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, who will speak to graduates at the Wolfson and Hialeah Campuses ceremony; Dr. Mildred “Millie” Garcia, President of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities; who will address the Medical Campus ceremony; and Laurene Powell Jobs, founder and president of the Emerson Collective, who will speak at the Kendall and West Campuses ceremony.
