Miami, Nov. 5, 2021 – For the eighth year in a row, Miami Dade College’s (MDC) acclaimed Miami Book Fair (MBF), in partnership with the National Book Foundation, and with the generous support of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation recognizes the nominees, finalists and winners of the National Book Foundation’s National Book Awards. The award ceremonies will be livestreamed at https://miamibookfaironline.com, as well as a live conversation with the winners and NBF executive director.
The National Book Foundation’s mission is to celebrate the best of American literature, expand its audience, and enhance the cultural value of good writing in America. The National Book Award is one of the nation’s most prestigious literary prizes and has a stellar record of identifying and rewarding quality writing.
The awards ceremony will be held on Nov. 17 in New York City, at which the winners will be announced in the categories of Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry, Young People’s Literature and Translated Literature.

Wednesday, Nov. 10, 10:30 a.m. National Book Foundation Presents the Teen Press Conference
Hosted by Kwame Alexander. High school students from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties and New York City public schools serve as journalists at the virtual Miami Book Fair x National Book Awards Teen Press Conference. These young reporters pose questions to the finalists for the 2021 National Book Award in Young People’s Literature. Sponsored by the Meredyth Anne Dasburg Foundation.
Wednesday, Nov. 17, 7 p.m. 72nd Annual National Book Awards
