Miami Dade College to Resume Classes and Normal Operations Monday Sept. 18

Miami, Sept. 15, 2017 –  Miami Dade College (MDC) will resume classes and normal operations Monday, Sept. 18.  After several days of damage assessments and recovery efforts, MDC’s eight campuses and outreach centers are safe to welcome back faculty, staff, and students.

“Never is the resilience of our beautiful South Florida community more evident than during times of great adversity.  This week’s passage of Hurricane Irma – with all its challenges and inconveniences – has brought out the best in each of us, uniting families, neighborhoods and workplaces as we find a renewed sense of normalcy,” said MDC’s President Dr.  Eduardo J. Padrón. “I thank all the employees at MDC who helped restore our operations.”

Several MDC’s facilities sustained damage during the storm and will require additional time and resources.   We ask our College’s community to be patient during this transitional recovery period, as some classrooms and office locations have been moved.  Students should login to check their schedules regarding changes in classrooms.

For the latest on the status of operations, students and employees are urged to check MDC’s homepage at www.mdc.edu, MDC Alerts, the MDC Hotline at 305-237-7500, MDC’s social media pages and the news media.
