Miami Dade College to Launch Weekend Accelerated Program in Psychology Next Spring Semester

Program open to college-ready students, allows for completion of Associates in Arts in as little as 12 months!

Miami, Nov. 1, 2016 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Wolfson Campus will launch a Weekend Accelerated Program in Psychology in January 2017, which allows college-ready students to complete an Associates in Arts in as little as one year.

Students seeking to enroll in the weekend accelerated program will adhere to the same admissions guideline as all other programs at MDC.  Courses will be offered in an 8- week hybrid or blended format with each class meeting once a week. Classes will be capped at 25 students. A mandatory orientation session will be announced soon.

“This is a great opportunity for motivated and disciplined students,” said Wolfson Campus President Dr. Rick Soria. “Psychology involves every aspect of our lives and MDC has the best faculty around to put students on a pathway to success.”

The discipline is rich, complex, and exciting. Psychology brings forth new ideas and continual growth, as well as personal development. The Associate in Arts with a pathway to a degree in Psychology will prepare students to work at social welfare agencies, correctional facilities and other employers serving the elderly and those with disabilities, all with competitive starting salaries and career advancement opportunities.

MDC has always aimed at providing its students maximum flexibility with high quality courses offered 7 days a week through the Virtual College, other accelerated programs, and prior learning assessment.
