Miami, FL, May 7, 2021 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) National Historic Landmark Freedom Tower will be illuminated green at sunset on Saturday, May 22, in support of Mental Health Awareness Month and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
During the month of May, NAMI joins the national movement to raise awareness about mental health and provide support, educate the public and advocate for policies that support people with mental illness and their families. This year, NAMI will continue to amplify the message of “You Are Not Alone” focusing on the healing value of connecting in safe ways, prioritizing mental health and acknowledging that it’s okay to not be okay through personal stories, videos, digital toolkits, social media engagements and national events.
