Miami Dade College to Host its XIII Architectural Showcase April 22

Miami, April 20, 2016 – Miami Dade College (MDC) will host its Annual Architectural Showcase on Friday, April 22, from 6 to 9 p.m. The event will feature architectural models, free-hand renderings, digital and mechanical drawings, and an impressive collection of video animations produced by architectural students at North, Wolfson, and Kendall campuses.

MDC’s architecture program has received praise for producing top, award-winning students. The beloved and impressive annual event will include a collection of student projects carefully chosen from the College’s best. Works from all levels of architecture and interior design, alongside projects from computer-assisted workshops and graphic communication courses will be on display. The event also provides a wonderful opportunity to engage professionals and the future generations of architects in a dynamic networking event.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for bright and ambitious young designers to show their work to an appreciative audience of architects and design professionals who, no doubt, still remember the excitement of having exhibited at an age when they were young college students themselves,” said Henry E. Lares, associate professor and coordinator of the Architectural Showcase.

MDC students are fostered by a learning atmosphere connecting them to architects and builders of the past as well as to the latest trends present in today’s kinetic world. This end-of-the-year show offers students the opportunity to share their designs and creations with the rest of the Miami-Dade community. The event is free and open to the public.
