This year the race changes location to MDC’s Kendall Campus
MIAMI, Sept. 11, 2026 — Miami Dade College (MDC), in collaboration with The Women’s Breast & Heart Initiative (WBHI), will mark the 10th anniversary of its Pink Walk with a new location this year, bringing the community together at MDC’s Kendall Campus on Sunday, Sept. 20.
The 10th Annual Pink Walk 5K Run and Walk is part of MDC’s annual Changemaker Week 2026, a weeklong series of more than 80 events across all eight campuses designed to promote changemaker education, mobilize the community, inspire collective action and create lasting impact.
The Pink Walk will begin at 7:30 a.m. at MDC’s Kendall Campus – Building M, with registration opening at 6 a.m. and a pre-race ceremony at 7 a.m.
The event supports WBHI’s mission to save lives by equipping at-risk women, college students and underserved communities with the knowledge, tools and resources needed to prevent and fight breast cancer and heart disease.
“Reaching the 10th anniversary of the Pink Walk is a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together around a cause that touches so many lives,” said Miami Dade College President Madeline Pumariega. “At MDC, we believe education has the power to inspire action and create meaningful change. Through this partnership with the Women’s Breast & Heart Initiative, we are helping raise awareness, promote healthier communities and empower people to take an active role in their health. I invite our students, employees, alumni and neighbors across Miami-Dade County to join us for this year’s Pink Walk and help us make this milestone year our most impactful yet.”
Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed among women in the United States, other than skin cancers, accounting for about one in three new cancers diagnosed in women each year. According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 321,910 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in the United States in 2026, while an estimated 60,730 new cases of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) will be diagnosed. About 42,140 women are expected to die from breast cancer this year.
Although breast cancer primarily affects middle-aged and older women, about one in 10 women diagnosed with breast cancer are younger than 45.
Registration is available at thepinkwalk.com. Participants also are encouraged to create a personal fundraising page to help WBHI reach its $100,000 fundraising goal.
Registration includes a commemorative T-shirt, chip-timed bib and finisher medal. Participants who raise $50, $100 or more also will receive special Pink Walk swag.
Registered participants are encouraged to pick up their Pink Walk packets on Saturday, Sept. 19, from noon to 4 p.m. at iRun Miami, 5050 Biscayne Blvd., Suite 103, Miami, FL 33137. Race-day packet pickup will be available beginning at 6 a.m.
