Miami, Feb. 6, 2017- Miami Dade College’s (MDC) chapter of the Florida Future Educators of America (FFEA) recently became a five-time award recipient at the 2017 State Conference in Orlando. The conference provided MDC School of Education (SOE) students opportunities to develop professionally, become engaged in sessions, and speak with leading education professionals from all around the state.
Several keynote speakers and breakout sessions reinforced this year’s theme of the conference titled, “Teaching is a Work of Heart.” Professors Rebecca Sanchez and Dr. Tom Uhle were invited to present at the conference where more than 100 members attended their interactive sessions about differentiated instruction.
MDC received five awards in the following categories:
1st place – “Teaching is a Work of Heart” essay, Samantha Hardy
2nd place – Speech competition, Claudia Hernandez
2nd place – Public Service Announcement video, FFEA Members
2nd place – Lesson Plan, Samantha Hardy
3rd place – Chapter Display, FFEA Members
