Miami Dade College Offers Several Free Technology Summer Camps

MIAMI, Feb. 16, 2023 – Beat the crowd and sign up early for a variety of free tech summer camps at Miami Dade College (MDC). Hosted by MDC’s Business Innovation & Technology (BIT) Center and Miami Animation & Gaming International Complex (MAGIC), the camps are available free of charge with registration and scholarship application. Space is limited.

The BIT Center will offer three camps for high school juniors and seniors at five MDC campuses. Weeklong sessions will include a Digital Marketing Camp where students will learn the fundamental concepts of launching a business through today’s most popular digital marketing platforms, including Google, Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok; the Stocks & Crypto Summer Camp focusing on buying and trading stocks and Crypto; and the E-Commerce Summer Camp, which teaches high school juniors and seniors to create and launch a real online store to market. Students may enroll in all three camps. Lunch provided daily.

MAGIC will feature Esports, Animation and 3D Game Design camps. This innovative program spotlights storytelling, 3D modeling, coding, game design, character animation and creating interactive simulations for Virtual and Augmented reality platforms.

Lead instructors will offer high school students a personalized experience with a low student-to-staff ratio, inspiring them to become the next generation of developers, animators, video-game designers, programmers and mixed-reality creators. Camps are sponsored by the City of Miami in conjunction with Venture Miami.
