Miami Dade College North Campus to Host Student Film Festival

Miami, April 20, 2016 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) School of Entertainment & Design Technology (SEDT) and MDC’s Film Society present the Student Film Festival, a celebration of the film & TV work produced by MDC students during the academic year, on Wednesday, April 27 at 6 p.m.  The event is free and open to the public.

“Through this film festival, we provide students the opportunity to participate in a professional film festival that holds their works to the same standards used across the industry,” said Dr. Malou C. Harrison, president of the North Campus.  “We expose our students to professional feedback for future growth in the field.”

Submissions to the 2016 MDC Student Film Festival are open to any project completed for academic credit in a SEDT film or television production course during the past academic year (Fall 2015 or Spring 2016 only).

MDC students will be honored for their talents and contributions during an award ceremony and screening. All submissions chosen to be screened at the Student Film Festival will receive an award for being selected in that particular film category, and then become eligible to win the award for the outstanding project of the year, which will be determined by a faulty committee.
