Miami, Nov. 28, 2022 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus will once again transform into a winter wonderland for its annual Children’s Holiday at North, which kicks off with Santa’s arrival from the North Pole at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10. The event is free and open to the public. Telemundo 51 anchor Mariana Rodriguez will co-host the event in its entirety.
Rodriguez is an Emmy Award-winning journalist born in Puerto Rico to Cuban parents and raised in the U.S. She is anchor of Acceso Total, a live entertainment show on Telemundo 51. She is also the entertainment reporter for the station.
Children’s Holiday at North will feature a spectacular parade with Santa’s little helpers, toy soldiers, several Disney characters and exciting marching bands, commencing immediately after Santa’s arrival. Children will have the opportunity to take a picture with Santa and hear a story from Mrs. Claus herself. Several live performances will take place for families to enjoy, including a Polynesian dance group, a hip-hop dance team and much more!
In addition, there will be numerous educational and cultural interactive learning activities such as the Youth in Agriculture Pavilion which features a petting zoo, Human Rights Tent, the M-DCPS Magnet Schools Zone, STEM Interactive LEGO Tent and they can visit the Holidays-Around-the-World Center which showcases global holiday customs. Children will also have the opportunity to do some Arts and Crafts at Santa’s Pavilion, take pictures with Princesses and Characters at their respective tents. They can also learn about overall wellness at the Health Pavilion and partake in an obstacle course.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for needy children in the community.
