MDC Medical Campus to Provide Health Screenings at the 2016 Miami Rescue Mission Christmas in July Fair

Miami, July 26, 2016 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Medical Campus will provide free health screenings to nearly 500 people at this year’s Miami Rescue Mission Christmas in July Fair on Friday, July 29.   The health fair is free and open to the public.

MDC students and faculty will offer blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol screenings. Helpful and timely information will also be available on smoking cessation, breast self-care, diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, and nutrition.

Attendees can receive free haircuts and showers at 8 a.m.  There will also be a clothing and Mission Hope hygiene bag giveaway.  Volunteers will serve a delicious barbecue style “Christmas Banquet” lunch at 11:15 a.m.

A ‘Children’s Corner’ will also be open during the festivities and will include bounce houses, snow cones, popcorn, face painting, and a magician.
