MIAMI, Fla., July 24, 2026 — Miami Dade College (MDC) will introduce an expansive portfolio of new academic programs and workforce initiatives beginning in Fall 2026, reinforcing the College’s commitment to preparing students for high-demand, high-wage careers that support Florida’s rapidly evolving economy. The fall term officially starts on Monday, Aug. 24, but registration is available through Saturday, Aug. 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Also, starting this semester, MDC students can take advantage of multi-term enrollment, which allows them to plan, register and secure their class schedule for a full academic year.
New MDC offerings for Fall 2026 include bachelor’s degrees, associate degrees, advanced technical certificates, college credit certificates, career technical certificates, industry certifications, and expanded bachelor’s pathways designed in collaboration with industry partners and aligned with emerging workforce trends. The programs provide students with flexible educational pathways that lead directly to employment while also creating stackable opportunities for continued academic advancement.
The Fall 2026 program expansion includes new offerings in several high-growth sectors:
Technology and Innovation
- Associate in Science in Financial Technology
- College Credit Certificate in Financial Technology Specialist
- Associate in Science in Semiconductor Technology and Nanomanufacturing
- College Credit Certificate in Semiconductor Cleanroom Technician
- Advanced Technical Certificates in Cloud Data Analytics, Cloud DevOps, and Cloud Security
- Expanded upper-level coursework for the Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity at Kendall Campus, creating a complete bachelor’s degree pathway
- Industry certifications including App Development with Swift Associate and Certified User, Adobe Certified Professional, and Python Coding Specialist
These programs prepare students for careers in financial technology, cloud computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, software development, mobile application development, data analytics, semiconductor manufacturing, digital media, and Industry 4.0 technologies—fields experiencing significant demand across Florida and the nation.
Advanced Manufacturing, Aerospace, and Agriculture
- Associate in Science in Aerospace Technician
- College Credit Certificate in Aerospace Assembly Technician
- Career Technical Certificate in Telecommunications and Fiber Optics Technician
- Expanded USDA-funded Project Harvest hydroponics training
Students will receive hands-on training in aerospace systems, advanced manufacturing, fiber optics, telecommunications infrastructure, hydroponic agriculture, and next-generation technologies supporting Florida’s growing aerospace, agricultural, and technology sectors.
Business, Accounting, and Music
- Advanced Technical Certificate in Advanced Accounting
- Revamped Music Business degree pathways in Performance and Production and Management and Marketing
- New courses in Introduction to DJ and Avid Pro Tools 101, leading to Pro Tools Specialist certification
The accounting program prepares students with advanced knowledge of auditing, forensic accounting, international financial reporting, tax preparation, data analytics, and emerging financial technologies. The updated Music Business curriculum combines business knowledge with technical production skills, preparing students for careers across the music and entertainment industries.
Sports Management
- College Credit Certificate in Athletic Coaching and Leadership
- College Credit Certificate in Esports Management
Developed through MDC’s Miguel B. Fernandez Family School of Global Business, Trade, and Transportation, these certificates prepare students for careers in the expanding sports and esports industries through coursework in leadership, event management, marketing, team operations, and strategic planning.
Healthcare
- Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene
The bachelor’s degree provides a pathway for licensed dental hygienists seeking advanced career opportunities in education, public health, research, administration, and leadership while helping address Florida’s growing demand for oral healthcare professionals.
Many of the new certificate programs and industry credentials are designed as stackable pathways, allowing students to seamlessly continue toward associate and bachelor’s degrees while building career-ready skills at every stage of their education.
The programs were developed in response to strong labor market projections indicating continued growth across sectors, including aerospace, agriculture, accounting, cloud computing, cybersecurity, digital media, financial technology, healthcare, music and entertainment, semiconductor manufacturing, software development, sports management, and telecommunications. Collectively, these industries are expected to generate thousands of new employment opportunities throughout Florida over the coming decade.
MDC offers hundreds of degree pathways leading to associate and bachelor’s degrees as well as numerous short-term workforce programs and courses. Classes are offered in four flexible formats: in person, MDC Blended (on-campus and virtual), MDC Live (100% virtual at scheduled times) and MDC Online (100% virtual, anytime).
