Miami Dade College Fashion Students to Showcase Original Designs at Annual Graduate Show on June 5

Miami, May 30, 2025 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) acclaimed Miami Fashion Institute (MFI), in collaboration with Miami Fashion Week, will present its Annual Graduate Show at 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, at the historic Alfred I. DuPont Building in downtown Miami. This invitation-only event will celebrate the next generation of fashion innovators. Working media is welcome.

“This show represents more than just the completion of their academic journey—it’s the beginning of our students’ futures as fashion professionals,” said Oscar Lopez, Chair of the Miami Fashion Institute. “Each collection is a reflection of their unique voices, their technical mastery and their ability to innovate in an ever-evolving global industry.”

The 2025 Graduate Show will feature collections by 17 outstanding MFI graduates who recently earned their associate degrees in fashion design at MDC. These rising designers were selected by a panel of leading industry experts, ensuring a showcase that exemplifies excellence, originality and craftsmanship. Their collections will be brought to life on the runway by professional models.

In addition, the show will feature a special appearance by Angeles Morales, a 2019 MFI alumna and one of only two designers selected to create an exclusive apparel line for the Serena Williams Design Crew (SWDC) at Nike. This prestigious apprenticeship program—launched in partnership with the tennis icon—aims to promote diversity in design. The collection, released this spring, is now available at Nike. Morales, a fashion designer and illustrator born in Miami with roots in El Salvador, brings a versatile background in contemporary, sportswear, eveningwear, and swimwear.

The event will also feature awards in key categories, recognizing graduates for their excellence in various facets of fashion design and presentation. Honorees will be selected by prominent names in the fashion world:
