Miami, March 11, 2025 – Students pursuing careers in fashion at Miami Dade College’s (MDC) acclaimed Miami Fashion Institute (MFI) will have a unique opportunity to assist established and emerging designers and work alongside top brands such as Nike, Lacoste, Levi’s and Perry Ellis at the inaugural The Show Miami, a global fashion fair taking place March 17 – 19 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, 1901 Convention Center Dr.
As the fair’s education partner, MDC will have a dedicated exhibition space and MDC booth showcasing students’ original designs. In addition, students will participate in panels, attend workshops, and gain valuable hands-on experience assisting top designers such as Ron Tomson (USA), Parasuco (Canada) and Sprayground (Miami), among others.
Co-founded by Katarina Hansell-Bakic and Ivan Herjavec, The Show Miami is open to industry professionals, social influencers and the general public to facilitate collaboration and make fashion more accessible to all. MDC students will customize Ishikawa sneakers in a workshop led by Italian designer and founder Angelo Lupis. As a way to pay it forward for future students, the finished sneakers will be auctioned to raise money for scholarships.
