Miami, Nov. 4, 2021 — Miami Dade College (MDC) will observe Veterans Day with community and educational activities that chronicle the sacrifices and accomplishments of the armed forces and veterans at each of its eight campuses. This year’s events include the inauguration of the Veterans Center at MDC Wolfson Campus on Monday, Nov. 8, lectures, presentations and Missing Person Table Displays, among other activities. All events are free and open to the public.
Originated as “Armistice Day” on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I, Veterans Day became a national holiday in 1938.
