Ameyal Mexican Cultural Organization Dance Company

The word ameyal means “spring water” in the Nahuatl language, and this is what the dancers represent in their performance: “a spring that flows from our roots and our traditions to the depths of our hearts.”

Influential Hispano Americanos: A Portrait Exhibition
of Artists and Writers

Join us to celebrate the influences of Hispanic artists
and writers in American arts. Local artist Mariana Altamirano is presenting an exhibition of portraits of famous Hispanic writers and artists. She will lecture on the creative process of each piece. Altamirano is accompanied by poet and song writer Orlando Coré, and poet Mario Rosales, who will delight the audience by reading poems from their published works. Light refreshments will be served. The opening and exhibition are free and open to the public. Hosted by the Hispanic Heritage Committee. Sponsored by the office of Campus Administration. La Copa Culinaria: Desserts of the Americas Competition

Mexican Independence Day

A Kendall Campus tradition for 13 years, in collaboration with the consul general of Mexico in Miami, commemorates over two centuries of Mexican Independence.
