Miami, Oct. 6, 2020 – From film presentations to poetry, literature, music and dance performances, culinary arts, architecture, and meaningful discussions about issues shaping the future of the country, Miami Dade College (MDC) celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with a variety of online events and activities that are free and open to the public.
With the theme “Be Proud of Your Past, Embrace the Future,” this year’s highlights include Coming Out in The Hispanic Community (Oct. 12), A Call-Out to Hispanics: Changemaking and Sustainability (Oct. 13),!Yo no soy racista! Hispanics and Race in America (Oct. 14), Adrian Castro: As the Spirit Moves Him, an exploration of Afro-Caribbean-American identity (Oct. 19) and Hispanic Immigration in the U.S. (Oct. 22), among others.
