Miami, April 7, 2017 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Wolfson Campus will host a lecture titled: The ‘A’ Movement – Pride over Prejudice, at 9:50 a.m., Tuesday, April 11, with Florida State Representative David Richardson (D-113), who will discuss the importance of the objectives of the LGBTQ community.
State Rep. Richardson will discuss the actions the LGBTQ community are pursuing to achieve goals such as: equality, the end of workplace discrimination, the passing of federal laws allowing adoption by same-sex couples, the ending LGBT youth homelessness, among other issues. In addition, he will highlight the importance of valuing the contributions and support that those outside the community are providing.
This event is being hosted by the MDC Pride Club and is offered as part of the presentation series for MDC Pride Week.
