MDC’s North Campus to Host Job Fair for Graduates and Students in Teaching Profession

Miami, July 11, 2017Miami Dade College’s (MDC) School of Education will host a Job Fair for graduates and students in the teaching profession on Monday, July 24, 4 – 7 p.m., at MDC’s North Campus Science Complex.  The event is free and open to the community.

This job fair will further MDC’s efforts to ensure that School of Education graduates move swiftly into the workforce and help to fill the community’s need for highly qualified educators. Employers will have the opportunity to hire current students and recent graduates in a variety of positions, including teachers, teacher assistants, after school program workers, and much more.

Public, charter and private schools will be on site to take advantage of the opportunity to engage with prospective employees. The job fair will provide opportunities for students to engage with future employers who boast a diversity of career opportunities.  Students and the public will be afforded a chance at immediate employment, which is important in today’s world to close the employment gap of qualified teaching professionals.

MDC’s School of Education will also provide professional development information and advising for anyone who seeks to upgrade their current teaching qualifications or for individuals who need to acquire the requisite credentials to transition into a teaching career. Tips, tools, and strategies on the best approach to entering the teaching profession will be shared. Additionally, attendees will meet professional recruiters, engage in mock interviews, and participate in resume reviews to help them on a path to success.
