MDC’s North Campus School of Engineering and Technology to Host Virtual Capstone Project Presentations

MIAMI, April 22, 2020Miami Dade College’s (MDC) School of Engineering and Technology (EnTec) at the North Campus will host virtual Senior Design Capstone Presentations at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 24. Presentations can be viewed here.

“We are very proud of all of our EnTec students and their innovative projects,” said Dr. Malou C. Harrison, President, North and Padron Campuses. “The Senior Design Capstone Presentations reflect the hard work and dedication of both students and faculty over the past several semesters. We look forward to the presentations every year and congratulate the students on their high achievement.”

Capstone presentations are the culmination of the creative process and training that the students have engaged in throughout the course of their program. These will be moderated by EnTec Chairperson, Anselm Knights. The design projects will be presented by students graduating this year from the Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Technology program. Students will present in the following areas:

  • Application Development – Led by Professor George Gabb, the following students will demonstrate applications that they have built, including web-based applications:
    • The Children- Educational Game: Marianita Gonzalez Osorio, Sergio Andres Rodriguez, and Shantell Kristina Smallhorne
    • Student Advisement System: Juan Cruz, Max Garces, and Adolfo Otero
    • Volunteer Tracking System: Diego Cardona, Clint Laborde, and Sara Robles
  • Cybersecurity – Led by Professor Nelly Delessy, these students will show their knowledge and ability in security and provide solutions that can impact businesses both large and small:
    • WMDR Cybersecurity: Waldo Abanto, Michael Bethel, Daniel Diaz, and Remy Supris
    • Mitnick LLP: Carlos Rivero Vilacha, Michael Timmes, and Kristian Fayas
    • SmallWorld Daycare: Anthony Thurston and Pablo Salas
    • DMT Tech: Tomas Rivera, Marcos Tzvetanov, and Dennys Vera
  • Networking – Led by Professor Ruben Arias, the following students will display knowledge in networking concepts in a variety of subjects including Local Area Networks, Metropolitan Area Networks and Wide Area Networks, among others:
    • Call Center Project: Harold Augustin, Kevens Desrosiers, and Pedro Jose Estevez
    • Texto: Daniel Nunez, Cindy delva, Farrisha Jackson, Natasha Campos, and Joniel Estavien
    • Better Rx Pharmacy: Stephen Fernandez, Richard Soler, and Eric Pavon
    • D&R Accounting and Taxes: Daniel Berguer and Renier Cruz
    • UrgentCare: Brenda Suarez, Guivel Fontirroche, and Eric Collazo
    • Harmoni Software Development: Kevin Catalan, Christian Marroquin, and Pedro Fullana
    • Credit Union: Ariel Acosta, Carlos Fernandez, and Windy Bien-Aime
