MDC’s Miami Culinary Institute Partners with Coca-Cola to Provide Holiday Meal Promotion

Miami, Nov. 22, 2016 Miami-Dade College’s (MDC) Miami Culinary Institute (MCI) is partnering with Coca-Cola Refreshments, Sedano’s Supermarkets, Conchita Foods and Spanish Broadcasting System, to bring South Florida consumers a unique and culturally relevant holiday meal promotion.

Through December 18, South Florida consumers can register at to have a chance to win one of 10 commemorative Coca-Cola-branded Caja China’s (Cuban roast boxes), along with all the traditional food ingredients for their holiday meal courtesy of Conchita Foods.

The Coca-Cola Caja China’s will be on display at 10 participating Sedano’s Supermarket locations. The giveaway is open to Florida residents 18 years or older, no purchase is necessary and winners need not be present to win.

To bring an interactive component to the promotion, MCI students will conduct live cooking demonstrations, including preparation of the Cuban-style pork to be roasted in the Caja China’s and Latin side dishes that are part of the traditional holiday meal.

The demonstrations, with the participation of MDC’s MCI students, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, 12 p.m. – 2 p.m., at the Sedano’s Supermarket located at 14655 SW 56th St. in Miami.  There will also be demonstrations on Sunday, Dec. 11, 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. at the Sedano’s Supermarket located at 3140 W 76th St. in Hialeah.  Free food and Coca-Cola product samples will be provided to attendees while supplies last.
