MDC’s Miami Book Fair to Co-Present Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg June 28

Miami, June 7, 2017 Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Miami Book Fair and Books & Books will present An Evening with Sheryl Sandberg in conversation with MDC alumna and syndicated columnist Ana Veciana-Suarez at 7:30 p.m., on Wednesday, June 28, at MDC’s Wolfson Campus. Tickets for the event are sold out. The working media is welcome.

Sheryl Sandberg, who grew up in North Miami Beach, is best known as Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer. In Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience and Finding Joy, the book she co-authored with Adam Grant, she writes about building resilience and moving forward after life’s inevitable setbacks. After the sudden death of her husband, Sandberg felt certain that she and her children would never feel pure joy again. Grant, a friend and psychologist at Wharton, told her there are steps people can take to recover and even rebound. Option B combines Sandberg’s emotional insights and Grant’s eye-opening research on finding strength in the face of adversity. She’ll share what they learned together about helping others in crisis, developing compassion for ourselves, raising strong children, and creating resilient families, communities and workplaces.

Sandberg will not autograph any books at this event. Those who obtained tickets must show their voucher and attached receipt to enter the event and claim a pre-signed copy of the book.
