MDC’s Miami Book Fair Presents Lip Service, the Hottest Storytelling in South Florida

Miami, Nov. 2, 2017 – You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll most probably cringe. Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Miami Book Fair, (MBF) the nation’s finest and largest literary gathering, will present a special edition of Lip Service: True Stories Out Loud, the smartest, hottest and most honest storytelling event in South Florida, on Friday, Nov. 17.

Lip Service combines theater and literature into an evening of true and personal stories that are hilarious, heartbreaking, poignant, embarrassing, and inspiring. Special guests will include spoken word sensation The Asia Project and Snap Judgement star James Judd. Stay for the official after party at The Porch with Speakfridays.

Last year, Miami Book Fair took over Lip Service, which was founded by Miami-based writer Andrea Askowitz and began as an intimate gathering of storytellers and story lovers, which grew into a literary happening that regularly draws more than 500 people to shows. Lip Service joins the fair’s roster of ongoing year-round programs that nurture the literary community of South Florida.
