MDC’s Miami Animation & Gaming International Complex Presents a Talk with Ron Diamond of Animation Show of Shows

Miami, Oct. 8, 2018 Miami Dade College’s (MDC) acclaimed Miami Animation & Gaming International Complex (MAGIC) presents the Founder and President of the Animation Show of Shows, Ron Diamond, as part of its Art of Tech Lecture Series at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24. This event is sponsored by Sprint.

Diamond is founder and president of Acme Filmworks, Animation World Network and The Animation Show of Shows. The 19th Annual Animation Show of Shows is a curated, feature-length collection of contemporary animated short films featuring 16 profound, award-winning films, including the work of eight female directors. At a time of increasing social instability and global anxiety about a range of issues, the works in this year’s show have a special resonance, presenting compelling ideas about our place in society and how we fit into the world.

He is a recognized expert in international animated shorts. Diamond lectures and presents workshops at schools and international animation festivals.  He also curates specialty animation programs for festivals. For 20 years, he has personally presented his Annual Animation Show of Shows to major U.S. animation studios, game and technology companies, students and faculty at numerous leading animation schools, and animation festivals across five continents.

MAGIC’s The Art of Tech series empowers, elevates and inspires innovation within the growing digital technologies industry. The speaker series brings together a wide spectrum of executive level professionals in the areas of Computer Animation, Gaming, Visual Effects, Motion Graphics, Virtual and Augmented Reality.

Located at MDC’s Wolfson Campus, MAGIC offers an Associate in Science degree in Animation & Game Art or Game Development & Design, and Immersive Technologies Certificate program on virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR).
