MDC’s Jazz at Wolfson Presents Grammy-Award Winning Saxophonist Jeff Coffin March 16

Miami, Feb. 2, 2022 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Arts and Philosophy Department continues its popular jazz series, Jazz at Wolfson Presents, with Grammy-Award winning saxophonist Jeff Coffin, who will perform via livestream at noon, Wednesday, March. 16.  All Jazz at Wolfson Presents performances are free and open to the public. Coffin is an internationally recognized saxophonist and composer, as well as a member of the legendary rock group Dave Mathews Band. A recipient of three Grammy Awards with the genre-defying Bela Fleck & the Flecktones, Coffin also fronts numerous groups when not touring with the band. He is one of the most in-demand saxophonists in the industry, as well as a first-call studio musician in Nashville, Tennessee, where he has lived since 1991.

Coffin, a Boston Sax Shop Ambassador, has released more than 17 solo recordings and is known for his musical passion, innovative compositions and his continued dedication to music education. He teaches improvisation at Vanderbilt University, has authored four books and runs his own record label, Ear Up Records.
