MDC’s Idea Center to Host 2nd Startup Nation Conference Feb. 26 – 27

Miami, Feb. 7, 2018 – It is an exciting time for Israel and Miami, two of the fastest growing and thriving entrepreneurship ecosystems! The groundbreaking Idea Center at Miami Dade College (MDC), in collaboration with Tel Aviv University, will once again host the 2018 Startup Nation Conference, Feb. 26 – 27, at MDC’s Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami. The conference will highlight emerging innovations and trends in the high-tech industry, including artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality and cybersecurity.

Building upon the success of the first Startup Nation Conference, which drew hundreds of attendees, this year brings together local innovators and Israeli entrepreneurs to share best practices in a unique and exciting exchange.

This year’s impressive list of entrepreneurs includes keynote speaker Albert Santalo, founder and CEO of 8base; Brian Brackeen, Founder & CEO of Kairos Anabetsy Rivero, Co-Founder and CEO of Metastatic, Wolf Shlagman, Co-Founder of CareAngel Ronen Yehoshua, CEO of Morphisec and Ofer Sadka, Founder of SolView; Michael Vaknin, Chief Economist, JP Morgan; Laura Maydon, Managing Director of Endeavor Miami; Dr. Vicki Rabenou, Founder and CEO of Startup Nation Ventures; and Nimrod Cohen, Managing Partner of TAU Ventures; among many others.

The Startup Nation Conference was born from a Knight Foundation collaboration with Project Interchange, an educational institute of the American Jewish Committee. A delegation of twelve Miami entrepreneurs and tech community leaders traveled to Israel in 2015 to learn from the country’s dynamic tech and innovation sector. Since then, The Idea Center and Tel Aviv University have partnered to bridge the two ecosystems through the Startup Nation Conference.

Early bird registration is $99 for general admission both days; $49 for MDC faculty, staff and alumni and $25 for MDC students. Must show valid MDC ID at check-in. Register at
