Miami, April 28, 2021 – Miami Dade College (MDC) President Madeline Pumariega will lead a talk on “Education for Future Careers” as part of Teal’s highly-anticipated Career Growth Summit CGS), May 4 – 6, a free virtual summit focused on purpose-driven tech jobs in a post-pandemic world. President Pumariega will speak at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4.
Teal, the direct-to-consumer platform that empowers professionals to manage their job search, will host its signature event, the Career Growth Summit, in partnership with the City of Miami. Created in response to a shift in values and a new way of thinking about careers in a post-pandemic reality, the summit will also feature keynotes from City of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, best-selling author on career fulfillment Gretchen Rubin and top worldwide leader on happiness at work Silvia Garcia, among 40 other speakers.
President Pumariega and Teal CEO David Fano will discuss how graduates of tomorrow can equip themselves with the necessary skills for success in future careers. President Pumariega, an active member of the #MiamiTech community, will also discuss the growth she has seen across the city and how students and recent graduates are actively contributing to the burgeoning tech scene.
With year-round sunshine, a burgeoning tech scene, an influx of capital and a growing, supportive community, Miami is well positioned to become the #1 destination for tech and remote workers.
“The pandemic has caused an unprecedented reexamination of our relationship to work, with employees prioritizing purpose over a paycheck,” Fano said. “We’ve realized we don’t want to waste our days in an average job, for a company whose values don’t align with our own, and with people who don’t enable us to be the best version of ourselves. The current employer-centric model of career development fails to meet the needs of professionals in a post-pandemic world. By equipping today’s job seekers with the right tools, community and guidance to find a role that aligns their values, Teal is empowering a new generation of purpose-driven workers.
