Miami, Nov. 20, 2023 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus will once again transform into a winter wonderland for its annual Children’s Holiday at North, which kicks off with Santa’s arrival from the North Pole at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9. The event is free and open to the public. Emmy-winning Telemundo 51 anchor Mariana Rodriguez will co-host the event with James Pierre from MDC-TV.
Children’s Holiday at North is a magical event featuring a spectacular parade with Santa’s little helpers, toy soldiers, several Disney characters and exciting marching bands, commencing immediately after Santa’s arrival. Children will have the opportunity to take a picture with Santa and hear a story from Mrs. Claus herself. Several family-friendly live performances will take place, including a Polynesian dance group, a hip-hop dance team and much more!
In addition, there will be numerous educational and interactive cultural learning activities, such as the Youth in Agriculture Pavilion with a petting zoo, Human Rights Tent, the M-DCPS Magnet Schools Zone, STEM Interactive LEGO Tent and Holidays-Around-the-World Center, which showcases global holiday traditions. Children can also participate in arts and crafts at Santa’s Pavilion, learn about overall wellness at the Health Pavilion and obstacle course, and have their photo taken with princesses and characters.
“North Campus is committed to serving our community and bringing the magic of the holiday spirit through educational activities,” said North Campus President Fermin Vazquez. “Let us come together, celebrate and create unforgettable memories during this festive season.”
Admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for needy children in the community.
